Your CCA Membership Benefits

Legislative Advocacy, Leadership Training, and Up-to-date Info

By far, one of the biggest benefits of your investment in this wonderful profession is advocacy efforts needed at the state and national level. The CCA advocates on your behalf through its Executive Director, President, Public Policy and Legislative Committee, the 50+ members making up the Governing Council.

Our members benefit from this professional advocacy at local, state, and national levels. Each year, CCA sends governing council executive members to the ACA Leadership Institute to lobby for professional counselors on Washington D.C. Capitol Hill. The CCA members have access to regular updates on what is happening in state mental health related legislation via our Members Only Legislative Newsletter.

Continuing Education Opportunities

There are a variety of educational opportunities provided through the CCA. These events support professional counselors, counselors-in-training, clinical supervisors, and counselor educators. Members have access to these opportunities at significantly reduced rates. To view these events, visit the CCA Events page.

Professional identity as a counselor is promoted by the CCA and our parent organization, the ACA. The CCA is in the top 10 largest state branches in the country. State membership allows you to become involved locally – YOU may directly impact the happenings in Colorado’s counseling profession. Find opportunities for networking and leadership in the counseling profession by joining the CCA.

Legal Representation

The CCA has partnered with Robert A. Lees and Associates to offer reduced rates on regulatory law consulting and defense for CCA members.

For over 30 years, Robert A. Lees and Associates has devoted a large part of their practice to serving the unique needs of professional counselors and organizations. Many professional counselors have questions about private practice regulations, clinical practice, and grievance defense. Often, professional counselors are left on their own to navigate these confusing waters.

The CCA's partnership with Robert A. Lees and Associates empowers members to confidently address the risks that often accompany the counseling profession.

Tele-Supervision

The 10,000+ licensed professional counselors and candidates in Colorado are spread all over our beautiful state. Often, however, it is difficult to find a clinical supervisor, especially if supervision is needed on a unique treatment issue. The CCA's new partnership with Motivo ensures every counselor in Colorado has access to a clinical supervisor, regardless of where they are located.

Motivo is an easy-to-use HIPAA-compliant platform connecting professional counselors to clinical supervisors for live video supervision. Through Motivo, CCA members can now easily seek clinical supervision or further their clinical supervision practice through tele-supervision.

Ethical Guidance

The CCA comes alongside members as they work through their ethical decision making model.  If you have an ethical dilemma as a member, you can simply email ethics@coloradocounselingassociation.org for assistance.

Members Only Job Board

The CCA provides an opportunity for employers to post job opportunities to the CCA Job Board. This job board is available to CCA members only, empowering members to seek and find employment within the mental health field quickly.
