Gregg Elliott

Dr. Gregg Elliott is the 2020 – 2021 President of the Colorado Counseling Association.  He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2003 and has been licensed in the State of Colorado since 2006. He has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adams State University and is an Assistant Professor in Colorado Christian University's Master of Arts in Counseling program. Dr. Elliott’s clinical expertise and research interests are in working with suicidal clients and in training mental health clinicians to work with suicidal clients. Dr. Elliott served as the President of the Collegiate Career Services Association of Colorado and Wyoming (CCSA) from 2008 - 2009 and was a Rocky Mountain Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (RMACES) Emerging Leaders award winner in 2016. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Colorado Counseling Association (CCA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), RMACES, Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), and the American Association of Suicidology (AAS). Dr. Elliott has recent publications on the topics of online teaching and self-efficacy to work with suicidal clients, and best practices in suicide training pedagogy.  He is currently working with a research team exploring the lived experiences of adult adoptees with complicated grief and the current state of the church in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations.
