Adult & Couples Therapist – Independent Private Practice Opportunity

Jana Briggs Counseling & Associates (JBC & Associates)
Littleton, Colorado

JBC & Associates is seeking an experienced, independently licensed therapist who enjoys working with adults and couples and is interested in building or maintaining their own private practice within an established counseling, psychiatric, and wellness group.

This opportunity may be especially appealing to a clinician who values the independence and autonomy of private practice while also wanting the professional community, visibility, referrals, resources, and support that come with being part of an established group practice.

Private practice office space will be available beginning September 25, 2026, with an ideal Associate start date of October 1 or shortly thereafter. We are currently beginning conversations with interested clinicians and hope to identify the right fit for JBC this fall.

A Different Kind of Practice Model

JBC operates through an independent Associate Partnership model rather than a traditional salaried or hourly employment structure.

Each clinician maintains their own independent practice and is responsible for their own clients, scheduling, documentation, billing, professional expenses, and day-to-day practice management. Clinicians establish their own fees, collect their own clinical revenue, and contribute an agreed amount to JBC through the Associate Partnership structure.

In return, Associates have access to the professional environment, resources, referrals, marketing, consultation, and collaborative community provided through JBC.

Our philosophy is simple: Build your own successful private practice without having to practice alone.

What JBC Provides

Associates have access to:

  • Beautiful, furnished professional counseling space in Littleton
  • Established JBC brand and community presence
  • JBC-generated referrals and established referral relationships
  • Group marketing and professional visibility
  • Practice consultation and support
  • Collaborative relationships with experienced mental health professionals
  • Psychiatric services within the practice
  • Comfortable client waiting areas and beverage bar
  • Wi-Fi, secure filing/storage, and other shared practice resources
  • Opportunities to participate in JBC wellness initiatives and future programming

Who We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in an independently licensed Colorado clinician with strong adult and couples experience who:

  • Values autonomy and an entrepreneurial approach to private practice
  • Wants to establish, grow, or maintain a private-practice caseload
  • Enjoys being part of a collaborative professional community
  • Is comfortable managing the responsibilities of their own independent practice
  • Values high-quality, ethical, relationship-centered clinical care
  • Is interested in developing a meaningful professional home within an established practice

This opportunity could be an excellent fit for a clinician actively growing a private practice or an experienced therapist who wants to maintain a smaller, intentional caseload without operating an entirely separate office and practice environment.

Important Practice Structure

This is not a W-2 salaried position or traditional employee role. It is an opportunity for an independent clinician to operate their own private practice as part of the JBC & Associates professional community under our Associate Partnership structure.

Specific details regarding the Associate Partnership structure and financial arrangement will be discussed with interested candidates to determine mutual fit.

Interested in Learning More?

If you’re an independently licensed therapist who is interested in growing or maintaining your own private practice while being part of an established and collaborative professional community, we’d love to hear from you.

Learn more about JBC & Associates, our team, services, and professional space at JanaBriggs.com.

To begin a conversation, please submit a résumé/CV through this posting or contact Jana Briggs at Info@JanaBriggs.com.

We welcome confidential inquiries from clinicians who are simply exploring whether the JBC Associate Partnership model might be a good fit.

Licensed Profesional Counselor

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The conditions your clients need to heal are the same conditions you need to do this work well. That belief is at the heart of Live Your Life Counseling.

Our work is built on a clear philosophy of healing. Healing isn't about fixing what's broken or forcing yourself to move on. It's about loosening the grip of past experiences that make life feel constricted. It's about helping people feel safer, more settled, and less driven by survival so they have more freedom, more choice, and more access to the lives they want to live. That philosophy doesn't stop with our clinical work; it shapes how we run our practice.

We believe clinicians do their best work when they aren't chronically overextended or living in survival mode themselves. We keep caseloads manageable and compensate our clinicians fairly. We actively resist the hustle culture that treats burnout as a badge of honor. A clinician who is exhausted and overwhelmed can't consistently offer safety, presence, and care. If those conditions are essential for healing, then it's our responsibility to create them for the people doing the work.

We also believe that your long-term goals matter. We want this role to support your growth, not limit it. If your time here helps you build confidence, deepen your skills, clarify your direction, or expand how you serve your community, we see that as a success, for you and for the people whose lives you'll continue to impact.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in Colorado to join our small, collaborative team.

You'll carry an adult caseload, seen in person and via telehealth, with full administrative and clinical support. The minimum expectation is 24 completed client hours per week. In practice, most clinicians book around 28 sessions to comfortably land there, accounting for typical cancellations. You have control over your schedule and how you structure your week to meet this goal.

We're committed to making care as accessible as possible, including accepting insurance. That means you'll work with a broad, varied adult caseload across different backgrounds, life circumstances, and clinical presentations.

You'll also have access to an AI-assisted note-taking tool at no cost to you. We think carefully about how AI fits into our work, with attention to client privacy, clinician autonomy, and best clinical practices, and we support ongoing learning around its appropriate use in care.

COMPENSATION

$45 per completed client hour, regardless of insurance mix

For each client hour you complete, you're automatically paid an additional 15 minutes at $25/hour. This compensation is built into your pay; you don't need to track or justify it. It's our way of honestly accounting for the work that surrounds sessions but isn't visible inside them: documentation, scheduling, and client coordination. Quarterly all-staff meetings are also paid time at your admin rate.

At the minimum caseload of 24 client hours per week, total gross annual compensation is approximately $69,000 - $71,000, including pay, benefits, and employer contributions. Clinicians who choose to carry a higher caseload will earn more.

BENEFITS

Paid Time Off

  • Two weeks of paid vacation
  • Six paid holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Paid sick leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, in accordance with Colorado law

Retirement

  • Automatic 3% employer 401(k) contribution, whether or not you contribute yourself

Health Insurance

  • Health insurance reimbursement through a Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA)
  • We contribute $400/month, which can be used for eligible insurance premiums and most out-of-pocket medical, dental, vision, prescription, and mental health costs, provided you have qualifying health coverage

Professional Development

  • $500/year reimbursement for continuing education, trainings, and licensing fees

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Credentials

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado
  • Comfort working in both in-person and telehealth settings

Who You Are

You're licensed and still deeply invested in your growth. You seek out consultation, stay curious about your work, and don't let credentials become a ceiling. You know you bring real skill to the therapy room, and you want to keep sharpening it.

You understand your limits and respect them. You believe that sustainable practice requires protecting your own well-being, not just your clients'. You set boundaries because you take this work seriously.

You're comfortable working with a diverse adult client population across a wide range of backgrounds, life circumstances, and clinical needs. You share our belief that quality mental health care should be as accessible as possible.

You'll thrive in a small, collaborative environment. You're able to work with a high degree of autonomy while also showing up reliably for the team around you.

TO APPLY

Please send your resume and a brief note about what drew you to the counseling field and to this kind of practice to careers@liveyourlifecounseling.com.

We don't need a formal cover letter. We're most interested in getting a genuine sense of who you are and what you're looking for, so feel free to write in your own voice.

You’re licensed and still deeply invested in your growth. You seek out consultation, stay curious about your work, and don’t let credentials become a ceiling. You know you bring real skill to the therapy room, and you want to keep sharpening it.

You understand your limits and respect them. You believe that sustainable practice requires protecting your own well-being, not just your clients’. You set boundaries because you take this work seriously.

You’re comfortable working with a diverse adult client population across a wide range of backgrounds, life circumstances, and clinical needs. You share our belief that quality mental health care should be as accessible as possible.

You’ll thrive in a small, collaborative environment. You’re able to work with a high degree of autonomy while also showing up reliably for the team around you.
