Colorado Career Development Association (CCDA)
A Strong and Thriving Organization the CCDA is a state affiliate of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), and a division of the Colorado Counseling Association (CCA). Our organization exists to serve those who have an interest in career and workforce development issues in Colorado. This encompasses a broad community of practitioners in many different arenas, such as:
Government
Higher education
Business and industry
K-12 school settings
Military
Private Practice
Non-profit organizations
Career and workforce development professionals have many different titles, including career counselor, career coach, guidance counselor, school-to-career specialist, career development facilitator, case manager, employment specialist, and HR specialist. Our educational and experiential backgrounds vary, as do the licenses and certifications that we hold. CCDA promotes a membership that reflects this diversity and attempts to reach out to these various groups by providing valuable training, as well as leadership and relationship-building opportunities. Colorado Licensed Professional Counselors Association (CLPCA)
The CLPCA has reorganized and re-energized, and we're inviting you to join us.
Are you an LPC, candidate for licensure, or graduate student in a counseling program looking for a professional association that supports your needs? The CLPCA is devoted to advocating, connecting, and providing ongoing education in support of the counseling profession.
Recently, the division has gone through a restructure and has elected a new board. Our enthusiasm is high and we want to share it with you! First, here's an introduction to who we are; The President is Amber Rockwell, MS, CSPT who served on the CLPCA board as secretary from 2005-2007. She has a private practice and works for Maple Star in their Virtual Residential Program. The President-Elect is Carol Hollifield, LPC. She works with Boys Hope Girls Hope as Program Director. The Secretary is Patricia Burnett, MA, NCC. She a private practice in greenwood village. Bill McDonald is serving as the Chair of Public Policy. He works with Senior Counseling Group. The Chair of Networking is Traci Davis, LPC.
Why should you be interested in our group? Our group is enthusiastic about reinvigorating the division and creating beneficial opportunities for professional counselors. The board is beginning to identify speakers for CEU’s, advocate on behalf of the continuing education bill, and planning future networking events. All of this under the mission statement of "To empower LPC's, candidates for licensure, and graduate students to meet the needs and enhance the communities in which the live to serve through advocacy, connection, and education."
