Your CCA Membership Benefits

Legislative Advocacy, Leadership Training, and Up-to-date Info

By far, one of the biggest benefits of your investment in this wonderful profession is advocacy efforts needed at the state and national level. The CCA advocates on your behalf through its Executive Director, President, Public Policy and Legislative Committee, and the Governing Council.

Our members benefit from this professional advocacy at local, state, and national levels. Each year, CCA sends governing council executive members to the ACA Leadership Institute to lobby for professional counselors on Washington D.C. Capitol Hill. The CCA members have access to regular updates on what is happening in state mental health related legislation via our Members Only Legislative Newsletter.

Legal Representation

The CCA has partnered with Robert A. Lees and Associates to offer reduced rates on regulatory law consulting and defense for CCA members.

For over 30 years, Robert A. Lees and Associates has devoted a large part of their practice to serving the unique needs of professional counselors and organizations. Many professional counselors have questions about private practice regulations, clinical practice, and grievance defense. Often, professional counselors are left on their own to navigate these confusing waters.

The CCA's partnership with Robert A. Lees and Associates empowers members to confidently address the risks that often accompany the counseling profession.

Office Space

The Colorado Counseling Association has partnered with Recenter. This unique partnership addresses one of the biggest challenges with private practice: office space.

Recenter provides two free sessions to all members of the CCA. Much like CCA, Recenter believes mental health care gets better for everyone when providers have the support they need. Recenter offers a new model for mental health care providers, one that affords the independence that comes with a private practice without the overheads or long-term lease commitment. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care, and Recenter removes the strain of searching for an ideal site that will suit all patients by meeting three main criteria; location, access, and design.

Pathways to Licensure

The CCA is here to come alongside you on the pathway to Licensure. From playing a major role in 2016 in the creation of the Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), to hosting webinars throughout the year explaining the route to one's Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), the CCA is a major source of support in your professional development.
