• Preformed a much needed face lift for our website
• Established membership discounts for insurance
• Established membership discounts on state of the art, easy to use, complete on-line marketing solutions and professional designed website
• Established membership “counselor locator” listing on website
• Established membership blog
• Conducted CCA Survey
• Published and distributed newsletters electronically
• Offered traveling workshop (with CEU’s)
• Hosted networking events (regional)
• Conducted leadership training
• Conducted membership drive
• Hosted Colorado Licensed Professional Counseling Association (CLCPA) activities
• Hosted Colorado Career Development Association (CCDA) activities
• Lobbied for Continuing Competency Bill
• Assembled the CCA Sunset Review committee
• Monitored legislation in order to keep Colorado counselors informed
• Contracted with state lobbyist for representation and monitoring of legislation
• Developed and implemented CCA Policies and Procedures manual
• Update CCA Bylaws
• Held an annual CCA strategic planning retreat
• Developed and implemented CCA strategic plan
• Began planning the CCA Annual conference for 2010
• Attended ACA regional leadership conference
• Visited Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to lobby for LPC and LMFT inclusion in Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Registered CCA in the Colorado Charitable Organization in Colorado
WHAT WE’LL BE DOING IN 2010
• Establish and Maintain the Financial Foundation of CCA
o Determine a reserve amount to maintain
o Obtain revolving high interest rate CD’s
o Conduct annual review of financial records
o Explore options for maintaining the budget by generally accepted accounting procedures.
• Develop Effective Leaders
o Appoint a Leadership Development Committee
o Present leadership academy/workshop at annual conference
o Sponsor President and President-Elect attend ACA and Western Region Leadership Conferences
• Promote Recognition of the Counseling Profession
o Monitor public relation efforts
o Publicize ideas developed to CCA member and general public
o Promote CCA membership to students
o Provide networking events and workshops for students
• Promote and Expand the Association
o Increase professional membership in CCA
o Utilize conduct membership assessment tool provided by ACA
o Develop strategy for membership retention and renewal
o Conduct annual membership drive.
o Conduct annual survey
o Nominate CCA for awards at the local, state, and national levels
o Explore ways to increase membership benefits
o Increase efforts to support counselors in rural settings and/or geographic areas
• Provide Leadership as an Association in Government Relations
o Monitor legislation which impact the profession of counseling
o Conduct monthly meetings for review of information to be presented at Sunset Coalition meetings
o Keep general membership aware of issues through legislative issues
