Plans for 2011

CCA is here to serve the interest of Colorado’s counselors and the profession as a whole. We have great plans for 2011 and we look forward to seeing you at our events and activities!

  • Establishing and Maintaining the Financial Foundation of CCA
    • Maintaining appropriate levels of cash reserves
    • Maintaining accounts at the highest interest and best flexibility in this economy
    • Conducting annual audit of financial records and refining audit procedures
    • Implementing and reviewing the budget by generally accepted accounting procedures
    • Implementing recommendations from Accounting for Non-Profit Organizations workshop
  • Developing Effective Leaders
    • Strategic planning with the Leadership Development Committee
    • Presenting leadership academy/workshop
    • Representing Colorado Counselor at the ACA and Western Region Leadership Conferences
    • Conducting Annual Executive Council Strategic Planning Retreat
  • Promoting Recognition of the Counseling Profession
    • Monitoring public relation efforts
    • Publicizing ideas developed to CCA members and general public
    • Promoting CCA membership to students
    • Providing networking events and workshops at various areas of the state
    • Conducting Annual Conference
  • Promoting and Expanding the Association
    • Increasing membership in CCA
    • Conducting annual membership drive
    • Nominating CCA for awards at the local, state, and national levels
    • Exploring ways to increase membership benefits
    • Increasing efforts to support counselors in rural settings and/or geographic areas
    • Initiating an exploratory committee for the feasibility of a CCA Journal

The Colorado Counseling Association (CCA) is a state branch of the 50,000 member American Counseling Association (ACA). CCA is an organization of counseling professionals who work in education, health care, residential, private practice, community agencies, government and business/industry settings. Serving as a dynamic network of professional counselors in the State of Colorado, CCA is devoted to professional development and maintenance of high standards for those involved in the counseling profession.
