Tools for the Journey
Helping Children from Addicted Families Build their Strengths
This Workshop explores the healing journey for children from alcoholic and otherdrug addicted families. After examining the Betty Ford Center Model, participants will learn effective strategies to make a difference in children’s lives. Learn aboutour unique prevention program and working with children, parents and families. Come fill your “tool box” with activities, games and techniques that really work. Lunch and snacks will be provided and 5 continuing education credits are available.
OBJECTIVES: Participants will be able to:
1.Identify and describe the four stages of discovery within the Betty Ford Center Model for children.
2.Identify the three Goals of the Betty Ford Center Model/Program for working with children and families affected by addiction.
3.Describe resilience.
4.Utilize at least two activity “tools” for working with children and their families.
