Presenter Michelle J. Stevens, MA, LPC, NCC, JD is a LPC and a National Certified Counselor. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law and Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, Denver. She is an Adjunct Professor teaching Psychology at Argosy. She maintains a private practice in Centennial and is outgoing President of the Colorado Counseling Association.
The goals of this interactive workshop are to:
1. Learn how to balance ethical codes with legal
requirements when addressing practical issues
2. Understand the recent changes to the Colorado Mental
Health Statute
3. Learn to create a risk management plan to protect the
interests of your clients as well as your license
4. Understand how to work with attorneys and the courts
Professional Development: Attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion which can be used to verify professional development hours and/or hours for re-licensing with DORA.
3 or 6 hours credit.

8:15 am - 9:00 am: Registration
9:00 am - 12:15 pm: Presentation, with 15 minute break
at 10:30
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Presentation, with 15 minute break
at 2:45
Professionals may choose to attend one-half day or the entire workshop.
